+++ Imagine UsI am in the process of developing this exciting new site-specific performance, which will be presented on Sat 24th Sept 11 in Plymouth as part of the Art Fringe accompanying British Art Show 7. Imagine Us will explore possibilities of interaction with the wider public by working with the BBC's Big Screen on Plymouth city centre's piazza.

There’s a woman sitting quietly on a bench in a busy city centre. She observes the passers-by and responds by typing on a laptop
Ll l lllll ll lllllll lll    tt tt t  t    ttt tt t ttr rrrr r r r rrss ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
The words appear live on a large screen.
The woman wears a brown fluffy full body bear costume and bright red high heels a bright red top and blue jeans.
A loose narrative starts to evolve, situated somewhere between the real and the imagined.
Please STAY just a little bit longer…

By addressing passers-by via the Big Screen, Imagine Us aims to heighten our awareness of the physical and thought spaces we pass through. Whilst exploring ideas of presence and mediation, the live encounter is also concerned with bringing public space alive.

Imagine Us is a site-specific variation of my staged performance Imagine Me To Be There, which has been presented at a variety of festivals and venues in Britain and Europe over the last year.

I really enjoyed the implication of the audience, the complicity that is required at some level in all performance, being re-presented and played with. Rich, layered and delightful. Thanks.    Audience member 'Imagine Me To Be There', IBT Festival 10

Imagine Us will be presented on Sat 24th September 11, at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm (for approx. 40min)
Meet at the BBC Big Screen, Plymouth City Centre Piazza, Armada Way
Free event.

Supported by Arts Council England, Residence and The Basement.

++ + I've recently become a Supported Artist at The Basement in Brighton and am now taking part in a 2-year structured programme of support and professional development. So I am travelling quite a bit between Bristol and Brighton right now. The Basement are showing a fantastic programme of performance, theatre and Live Art and I really look forward to seeing the one or other show there!!

++ + I am also in residence at Arnolfini in Bristol as Platformed Artist 2011.
